
1. Necropolitics
- Necropolitics is a term and concept developed by the Cameroonian philosopher Achille Mbembe, building on Michel Foucault’s idea of biopolitics (the power to manage life).
- It is about the power to dictate who may live and who must die.
Some examples are
- Palestine under Israeli occupation: where the population is heavily controlled and subjected to violence.
- Slavery and apartheid: systems where racialized bodies were denied basic humanity.
- Refugee camps: where people live in permanent limbo, often without rights or future.
2.Mogami-Class Frigates
- The Mogami-class is a modern class of multi-role stealth frigates built for the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF).
- Also known by the project name 30DX or FFM (Frigate, Multi-Mission).
- Developed to replace older vessels and enhance maritime patrol, mine warfare, anti-submarine, and surface warfare capabilities.
- In 2025, Australia selected the Mogami-class as the base for its new frigates fleet.
- First major warship export for Japan since WWII
3.Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)
- Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) is a Government of India initiative to transfer subsidies and benefits directly into the bank accounts of beneficiaries, eliminating leakages, corruption, and middlemen.
- Launched on 1st January 2013.
- Ensures transparency, efficiency, and financial inclusion.
- The Ministry of Finance plays a major role in managing and overseeing the implementation of DBT schemes.
- The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) supports the digital infrastructure needed for DBT.
- PAHAL (LPG Subsidy) is run by the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, and provides direct subsidy transfers on LPG cylinders to consumers.
- MNREGA Wages, under the Ministry of Rural Development, are paid directly into the bank accounts of workers.
- The NSAP (Pension Schemes), also run by the Ministry of Rural Development, provide pensions to the elderly, widows, and disabled persons.
- PM-KISAN, under the Ministry of Agriculture, gives ₹6,000 per year to farmers in three equal installments.
- Scholarships, offered by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Minority Affairs, are transferred directly to students from various categories.
- PMAY-G (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin), managed by the Ministry of Rural Development, provides funds directly for rural housing construction.
