I. RHUMI-1
- Rhumi 1 is India’s first reusable hybrid rocket
- Tamil Nadu-based start-up Space Zone India develops it in collaboration with Martin Group
- Reusable rockets release the payload, land back on Earth and can again be launched with a new payload
- RHUMI-1 is a hybrid rocket engine that uses a combination of solid and liquid propellants to improve efficiency
II. RAMSAR SITES
- Ramsar Sites in India are wetlands of international importance designated under the Ramsar Convention
- The Ramsar Convention is an intergovernmental treaty adopted on 2 February 1971 in the Iranian city of Ramsar, on the southern shore of the Caspian Sea.
- In India, it came into force on 1 February 1982, under which wetlands of international importance are declared as Ramsar sites.
- As of August 2024, India has 85 Ramsar Sites and among the states, Tamil Nadu continues to have the maximum number of Ramsar Sites
III. MADAME BHIKAJI CAMA
- She was a revolutionary icon hailing from the state of Gujarat
- She is known as the MOTHER OF THE INDIAN REVOLUTION
- She propagated the cause of Swaraj among the Indian community in England.
- In 1907, Madam Cama became the first person to hoist the Indian flag in Germany.
- The flag was designed by herself and a fellow activist V D Savarkar.
- She published the revolutionary work known as ‘Bande Mataram’
