I. Ozone Layer
- It is a layer in the earth’s stratosphere that contains high levels of ozone.
- This layer protects the Earth from the Sun’s harmful UV radiation
- Direct sunlight without this solar layer will affect skin diseases including cancer and weakened immune systems.
- UV radiation would also affect the environment adversely leading to decreased productivity.
- Ozone depletion is a phenomenon in which the thinning of the ozone layer in the Earth's stratosphere, is primarily due to the release of ozone-depleting substances (ODS) such as chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), halons, and other industrial chemicals.
II.PM GATI SHAKTI
- The PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, launched in October 2021
- It aimed at revolutionising India’s infrastructure over the next five years.
- It has been developed by BISAG-N (Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geoinformatics).
- The National Master Plan revolves around seven primary sectors: roads, airports, mass transport, logistics infrastructure, ports, and waterways
III. Dr. APJ ABDUL KALAM
- He was born on 15th October 1931 at Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu.
- He was sworn in as India’s 11th PRESIDENT in 2002 and completed the full term in 2007
- He is known as the MISSILE MAN OF INDIA due to his contributions
- He was awarded the coveted civilian awards - Padma Bhushan (1981) and Padma Vibhushan (1990) and the highest civilian award Bharat Ratna (1997).
- His Literary Works are Wings of Fir, India 2020 - A Vision for the New Millennium, My journey and Ignited Minds-Unleashing the power within India, Indomitable Spirit
